MileGrams - July Training

Training is on! July was a quick ramp-up in mileage, starting at 3 miles and ending with 9 miles this past Saturday.

Beautiful views of the Williamsburg Bridge during loop runs in Williamsburg.

This never gets old. He is willing to keep me company, even at 6am.

First practice with Team for Kids in Central Park! Early Saturday mornings, the park is FULL of runners and running teams.

Growing bored of my neighborhood loop, I ventured up into Greenpoint for a few runs.

(One of my favorite streets in NYC, Guernsey St. in Greenpoint.)

(Northwestern tip of Greenpoint, intersection of Commercial & Franklin)

Two runs per week are during work days, requiring 4am/5am wake-ups.
Brooklyn is so sleepy and lovely at this magical time.

Started running at McCarren Track because track surfaces are supposed to be better for injury prevention. Although running around in small circles isn't the best, the track always has interesting characters.

(This squirrel had no fear of humans and refused to leave his spot in Lane 1.)

(My view while eating this awesome old man's dust.)

(These three family members are there every morning, walking it out. Commitment!)

(Packed track on Saturday morning with runners, little league soccer, group yoga and group bootcamp. Tons of things to watch during a 2 hour run.)

(Early morning seagull on the soccer pitch, scavenging the trash bins.)

9 miles, people! Heading into August feeling great!

 (Obsessed with my new visor.)

(Closest feeling to persistence hunting. Nothing more satisfying than
Saturday brunch after a long run!)

(Ryan's well-deserved meal. Sleeping be hard, yo!)
